Its is that time of the year again.....Christmas is almost here and jibjab.com has the elf yourself creator...I had to give in and make one....here is the one of my brother and I.....
So...horrible test week is over and I managed to survive...I am sure I did Ok on my tests so lets hope for the best. I will be off school all next week since most of my classes are done and I only have finals to take on Dec. 11th and 12th. I want the semester to be over ASAP. I have decided to study for finals during my week off from school so that I do not stress out later.
Also, Black Friday is coming up...woo hoo!!!!!! I know that wal-mart is going to have extremely awesome deals. I am going to camp out so that I can get my hands on a 10.2 mp digital camera for $70 and a xbox 360 with guitar hero for $200. I need a new camera and I am getting the xbox 360 for my brother for Christmas. I am so ready to shop.
In other news...(not so awesome news)...one of my favorite guitarists from my favorite band (Mago de Oz) is leaving the band. His name is Jorge Salan and he is leaving the band to become a soloist. I love how he plays the guitar but I believe that the rest of the instruments in the band help him sound great. I know the band will never be the same without him.....I wish him the best of the best.....
Until next time.....

The school semester is getting so close to being over. Like I said before the pressure is starting to build up and I am at a point in which I just want to jump off a building. I have four tests next week and I can not take the stress. I have my biology laboratory final on Monday, O-chem laboratory and O-chem lecture tests on Thursday and Calculus test on Friday. I have been studying hard but the pressure of getting good grades is the thing that is killing me. While walking to the library yesterday, I bumped into this person. He was handicapped but he still told me (a total stranger) "Good Morning". That just made my day. I was so glad that someone still says good morning at UTD. My university is well known for being very anti-social. I am learning to manage my stress now. The more pressure I put on myself, the more stress I am going to gain, and the worst I will do in classes. I am just going to try my best and see how everything turns out. Wish me luck, I will need it!
Four years ago, in November 8, 2004, one of the greatest loves of my life left this world. My grandmother died four years ago. I still miss her so much. I wish I could have been there with her. I had not seen her in 4 years. We talked over the phone a lot, but it was not the same. We were in two different countries. I was planning on seeing her in December of 2004. It was the first time we would return to Mexico after being in the US for 4 years. She died a month before we returned....A MONTH....why couldn't God wait....ONE MONTH. She had always been healthy but I guess we all have out time to go. I just wish we could all know when we are going to die....that way we would enjoy our lives to the fullest and spend the most time with those who we love. I miss her SO MUCH....sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night crying because I had a dream of her. I know I will never see her again. There is a picture of her looking down on me as I write this...I can not control the tears....I need her here with me...hugging me...calling me....I wish I could have her for the last time. I wish I could be with her right now. I still love her so much...she has been my reason to keep on going and be my best.
Rest in Peace Grandma....We still need you here.....
Ladies and Gentlemen...Barack Obama is the next president of the United States. I guess we are ready for change. I just hope that he accomplishes all he has promised. He better start with the war... I want to see all or our men and women in uniform back.
While "stalking" people on facebook...lol...I came across this....
1. All politicians are the same => no point in chosing one
2. There is really is not point in voting because the outcome is determined by rich people who control the government. See politicians are there to give u the idea that u have choice. U dont! lol ... u have people who make the decision for u => no point in voting.
could it be true....?
I am so happy that I got to vote!!!!! I hope my vote will make a difference in our future.....

So it is a new month....November is here and we are getting closer to Christmas and New Year's. Time has gone by so fast (like usual). The school semester is almost over and I can feel the pressure of finals building up. I am so ready for winter break...woo hoo!!!!
Election Day is tomorrow....many people say that these elections are going to be historic....lets see if they are...I tried to go early voting, but I just didn't had the chance. I will wake up extra early tomorrow so I can get to the voting place early and not wait in line. I am very excited because this is the first time I vote in the big (important) election....yay!!!!!!
until next time.....

I had a very though week at school this past week....I had two tests (one if them was O-Chem). I am pretty sure I did ok on both on my tests. Good thing they are over! My friend E has just turned 20 so we celebrated yesterday night. Some of her friends and I went to a very cool pizza place called Gatti's Town. We had lots of fun....well deserved fun....lol.....
I am very EXCITED because my favorite band, Mago de OZ, will be coming back to Dallas...!!!!!! They will be playing at the House of Blues on Nov. 23. The concert will be on a Sunday night, but the good thing is that my Monday morning class will be over by Nov. 17.... My dad will not be able to go with me this time since he has to work :( but I will takes pictures for him....lol.... A friend asked me to go with him so that is the plan for now. I am so happy that I will get to see the band once again....!!!!!! I just can't wait!!!!!!!!!!
I am also waiting for the mo'update!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to change templates.....!!!!!!!!!!
The 10 Commandments if they had been written by college students
1. Last Supper would have been eaten the next morning cold.
2. The Ten Commandments are actually only five, double-spaced, and written in a large font.
3. New edition every two years in order to limit reselling.
4. Forbidden fruit would have been eaten because it wasn't cafeteria.
5. Paul's letter to the Romans becomes Paul's e-mail to abuse@romans.gov.
6. Reason Cain killed Abel: They were roommates.
7. The place where the end of the world occurs: Finals, not Armageddon.
8. Out go the mules, in come the mountain bikes.
9. Reason why Moses and followers walked in desert for 40 years: They didn't want to ask directions and look like freshmen.
10. Instead of God creating the world in six days and resting on the seventh, He would have put it off until the night before it was due and then pulled an all-nighter.
I am back from Houston!!!! I wish that the conference had never ended....I had a GREAT time!!!!!!!!! I was very worried about going to the conference because I was going to participate on an event called the College Bowl. I imagined that it was going to be an academic competition (or something challenging).
Only six people from UTD went to the conference. We drove from Dallas to Houston for about 3.5 hrs. I was shocked when I saw the hotel we were going to stay in. We stayed at the Hilton of the Americas (or something like that). It was a beautiful hotel. I had a roommate (Eleese) who was awesome!!! We had a room in the 11th floor!!!!!! We had the most amazing view from our room. The same night of our arrival all the participants of the college bowl (myself included) had a dinner with representatives from NASA. We learned a lot about job opportunities with them. The most exciting thing of that dinner was when I found out that my AWESOME friend BJ was coming to the conference as well!!!!!
The next day (Friday) we had the College Bowl.....I was freaking out about the whole competition idea. I knew all the students were going to split into groups, but what I didn't knew was how the teams were going to be chosen. There were many companies at the HENAAC conference. The companies went from Chevron to NASA. We had to go to the booths of the different companies and "sell" ourselves. We had to demonstrate why we had to be chosen by a certain companies to participate on their team. I interview with most of the companies there....the only one I can remember were Chevron, NASA, US ARMY, IBM, REDCOM, and Sandia National Laboratories. Each companies choose the students they were interested on. I was so lucky to be chosen by Sandia National Labs!!!!!! I am a very shy person so the whole draft process was a total different thing for me. None of my friends were chosen into my team so I had to meet new people. All the teams were separated through out the hotel. I went with my group and I got to meet some of the most awesome people in the conference. I met people from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, all from all over the US. We had so much fun competing....the completions were not academic....they were FUN!!!! We had to use real world scenarios to create songs, skits, space ships.....and so much cool things. It was a 12 hr non-stop competition.....Red bull became my best friend....lol....one of the competitions was to see which team had the best resumes. We had to go to a different room and print our resumes. I was about to print my resume when someone told me to stop and don't move. I freaked out, but when I turned around I saw my friend BJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The entire world paused....I was so happy to see him after months!!!! He had to leave me because I had to go back to compete against more companies.....The college bowl started at 8:00am and ended at 9:30pm. We were not told who the winner was.....so we had to wait until Sunday. The college bowl was over and off to a party we went. HENAAC hosted a dance for all the students so there we went. It was not very fun because not a lot of people showed up. My roommate and I decided to go back to the room and rest.
So the next day came by (Saturday).....We had a career fair (THANKS Norman for helping me out with the resume). My roommate and I are both Biology majors and we could not find a lot companies interested in us since it was a conference more oriented towards engineers. We finally got to talk to a couple of companies that were interested in us so we gave them our resume....lets see how everything goes. I hope I hear back from any of the companies.....We got lots and lots of free stuff from many of the companies!!!! The career fair ended and we headed back to the hotel. My roommate and I watched movies for most of the afternoon. The entire UTD gang decided to go out and have dinner at a near by Italian restaurant called Josefina's.....I had the BEST pasta in the world....and how can I forget about the chocolate cheesecake...yum!!!!!! After dinner we headed back to the hotel. My roomie and I invited the rest of the UTD students to our room. They came over and then we went to the pool and the terrace in the 24th floor. We had an awesome time and then off to another dance....lol....HENAAC had the last dance of the conference. This time it was an awesome dance. I met a guy who was in my college bowl team.....We danced all night long.....we had a great time.....!!!! The dance finished and back to the hotel room we went.
The last day came by (Sunday).....I didn't wanted to wake up....I was so tired of dancing all night long....but we had to get up and pack. After we finished packing all the UTD students went to the Hard Rock Cafe....I bumped into BJ once again.....We all had a blast together. We all went back to the hotel because we had a luncheon. The luncheon was very important to all the students because they were going to announce the winners of the college bowl!!!!! it ended up being that Sandia National Laboratories (aka my team) WON 2nd place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were all SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every team member won a $300 scholarship........After the luncheon we headed back to Dallas and here I am now.....
I had the greatest time in Houston.....I am more than ready to go to next year's conference in Long Beach, California.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are a few pics that I took....I am still waiting for some of my new friends to email me more....
